ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS
Selmar Yacht Service can help you with all your electrical needs be it upgrading your old systems and/or making sense of that rats nest behind your panel. Our staff has the experience to install and design electrical systems to meet the demands of you and your on board systems. We can help you with your needs in both new an reconstruction, from providing panels. to on board power generation Simplicity of design and ease of maintenance and accessibility is the foundation on which all of our work is based. FABRICATION
Selmar Yacht Service has built a reputation for providing top quality craftsmanship. We have designed and built stainless steel rails, radar arches, aluminum pilot houses, masts for high performance sailboats, commercial boats and mega yachts. We have designed and built specialized parts for hydroplanes, around the world racing sailboats...the list is endless. Our crew combines experience and innovation with craftsmanship to provide an unbeatable combination.

FIBERGLASS
With years of experience in building, repairing and modifying boats, Selmar Yacht Service can meet all your needs. We are able to do new construction, structural repairs, build molds, forms,vacuum bag, build radar arches, hardtops, helm stations, WPit extensions, transom doors, etc. Depending on the application, we make use of polyester, vinyl ester resins and epoxies. We make use of pre and/or post cure methods if the application is called for in combination with various core materials and cloth weaves, be it carbon, Kevlar or glass cloths. It all depends on th ease of stress and application.

BLISTER REPAIRS
Blister repair is always a great concern with boat owners and today's mass produced production boats. Due to the porosity of polyester resins and gel coat, the polyester lay-up slowly absorbs water over time which reacts and becomes imbedded in the small voids in the layup. The purpose of doing a blister repair is to fix the blisters which have caused the lay-up to delaminate and bring the moisture content of the hull to +/- 5% and then, once this level is reached to encapsulate the bottom with a barrier to prevent water from being absorbed again, by applying a much denser and much less porous barrier such as an epoxy.

Once the bottom has been stripped for drying out, Selmar Yacht Service has a process where we record the moisture content when the drying out period starts to use it as our baseline until the content has been reduced to acceptable levels. This record keeping covers points around the hull and the owner is sent a copy for his records and to keep him appraised of the progress.

Once the hull reaches an acceptable level, we proceed to fix the blisters with epoxy and glass cloth to original standards. We do not use off the shell blister fillers, as we found that because it is a different medium and density than the original lay-up, it has a tendency to separate from the hull especially in boats that operate in an environment where there are big temperature differentials which cause the different densities to expand and contract at difference rates. This causes the secondary bonds to fail and allow water to penetrate. Once the blisters are repaired and faired to original, we coat the bottom with six layers of WEST SYSTEM EPOXY and then apply off-the-shelf barrier coat systems as primer before bottom painting. Selmar Yacht Service has had great success doing it this way, although it is very labor intensive

REPAIR & INSTALLATION
Selmar Yacht Service can handle all of your repair and maintenance needs. If it floats, we can fix it. We work with most insurance companies and can repair everything from color matching the tiniest gel coat scratch to structural repairs after an accidental grounding or fire. Our technical staff can install new systems, upgrade old systems or repair old as the need may arise. PAINTING & COATING
In the marine environment the correct coating and method of application is an important factor in protecting your investment and extending its life. There are various topside and bottom coatings, depending on the type of boat, the use and the kind of construction, the area and environment that the boat or part will be operating in. Selmar Yacht Service can upon inspection give you recommendations on the correct coating and application method. of any coating is in the preparation and making the right product choice for the application.

Selmar Yacht Service also has' the facility to take care of your coating needs for yachts up to 100 feet. We specialize in multi­component part polyurethane paints such as INTERNATIONAL, AWlGRIP, HEMPEL, JOTUN, TEKNOMARIN and single part polyurethanes and bottom coating systems made by TEFMOMARIN and MORAVIA brands. Selmar Yacht Service is also expert in most epoxy coatings applications.

MECHANICAL & ENGINES
Whether you have a power boat or sailing boat, the need to maintain your mechanical systems and running gear is crucial, because in the marine environment, moisture and electrolysis is only one step behind you and your maintenance. The first time you turn the key your wear and tear starts and only with diligent maintenance can you prolong the life of your power, drive-train and associated running gear. Selmar Yacht Service can help you replace, align, service, re-power and maintain or engineer and install all the associated components that support these systems to keep your boat running at optimum performance. With our use of laser technology we can save hours of labor and work to tolerances previously unheard of.

We have installed from the smallest 2 hp outboard motors on dinghies to small auxiliary diesels and generators on sailboats to 1500 hp main propulsion engines on ships. We will also make sure that all the support components are adequate for your needs and we can fabricate new engine beds, shafting, support' bearings, struts or whatever may be required to complete the scope of work. All components will then be sea tria led for factory warranty purposes.

VARNISH
There is nothing like the luster of hardwood refinished to perfection. We have one of the best refinishing shops in Bodrum and with the varnishes, polyurethanes and acrylics on the market today we can deliver a finished product that will last for years to come. Selmar Yacht Service has developed its own techniques for various applications, be it a bright finished runabout, spar on a sailboat or interior cabinets. We can deliver beautiful Brightwork both for the interior and exterior of your boat.
